New Patients

We want to thank you for visiting the Alcoma Dental website! Our goal is for your first visit to be one of comfort and acknowledgement of your dental needs.

We will take the required time to properly diagnose your immediate dental concerns, review your past medical and dental history, and create a treatment plan that provides for your optimal dental health. With your cooperation, we will complete a thorough comprehensive dental evaluation.

Why? Because the foundation of a long term relationship is established at your first visit to our practice.

First Visit

Please assist us by providing the following information before your consultation:

  • Any recent x-rays taken by a previous dentist, if applicable.
  • A list of medications you are presently taking.
  • Completed new patient forms (these will be emailed to you on the day you make your appointment or can be picked up in the office) – if you are unable to fill out your forms ahead of time we ask that you arrive 15-20 minutes early in order to complete them in-office.
  • Please bring your dental insurance card or digital copy with you.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Consult Appointments:

  • Your initial appointment usually will consist of an examination and review of your treatment options. Usually, treatment can be done or started the same day as the consultation.
  • Complex medical history or extensive treatment plans will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on additional days.

Emergency Appointments:

  • We are not always able to accommodate emergency visits if you have never been seen at our office but we will do our best to have you seen if possible.
  • Same day treatment is not guaranteed
  • A limited exam and localized x-ray of the problem area will be done before treatment options are presented

Cleaning Appointments:

  • Your first cleaning appointment at our office is a comprehensive one – an exam which includes oral cancer screening, periodontal mapping, and treatment planning will be done during your appointment.
  • Your hygienist will do a thorough cleaning and assessment of your oral health
  • A panoramic x-ray and bitewing x-rays will be taken to assess your health below the gumline and in-between your teeth
  • You can expect your first visit to take 60-90 minutes
